Exhibition, tutorial day and mini-conference at Photokina 2014

The International Virtual Reality Photography Association, representing world-wide more than 300 panoramic photographers, videographers and professionals that create and produce interactive immersive images, is proud having a display space at Photokina in Cologne, Germany, the world’s largest fair for photography and imaging, as part of their supporting program, in Hall 5.1 C-007.

This is an opportunity for us to educate the public about VR photography and video and to promote our work. It is also an ideal time for European members of the panoramic photography community to meet each other and catch up on progress in our field.

Exhibition

For the exhibition this Photokina we have chosen for more thematic approach, rather then the eclectic competetive one. The themes are Night-Sky photography, Symmetry and Planets, Mountain photography. Also Gigapixel images will be presented.

Mini conference evening

In addition to our exhibits and outreach as part of the fair, we organise a mini conference about 360 video producing, on Wednesday September 17, just after Photokina closes. This includes sessions on a range of subjects, especially stunning hardware and new software, and the making of a 360 video. It will be an interesting evening for everyone in the industry intersted in 360 video and to explore where VR may be heading. For the program and speakers look at the schedule.

Tutorial day

Following on our success at former Photokinas we will organize a tutorial day on Tuesday September 16, the first day of the fair, where both beginning and more advanced photographers can learn how to improve their VR photography and production. Experienced VR professionals will be giving an introduction to panorama shooting concepts and techniques in the morning, followed by a short photo-safari, and then hands-on computer-based production sessions in the afternoon. A hands on workshop that will give you a boost start in VR photography or improve your skills in producing VRs. FGor more information look at the schedule.

If you are interested in attending either the mini conference, the tutotial or the fair in Cologne be sure to book your hotel soon as rooms are getting scarce and prices keep rising (there will be no group booking or special IVRPA rate).
