Zugspitze

Zugspitze

The greatest fun is always to push panoramic photography to a new limit.
The image here was taken during a flight over the Bavarian Alps shortly before arriving at the summit of the Zugspitze.

Re: Zugspitze

Hey that's VERY cool Jurgen. The camera strap had me worried though... could get caught on something.
Any idea what the aircraft speed was when you were shooting?

Re: Zugspitze

No worry, everything was tied and secured, the strap was just a bit too loose.
Lowest speed one can go with this kind of airplanes is around 100 km per hour.

Re: Zugspitze

I did several flights on these kinds of airplanes for normal aerial photos. I was always prepared to do a pano too, but the strong wind at 120-140km/h was too strong to venture it. Try to put your cam on a monopod way out of a car running at 150km/h then you know what it is alike.
